Route Supervisor

Velvet Ice Cream is seeking a qualified individual for a full-time, Route Supervisor, for our Cleveland office.
Velvet Ice Cream Route Supervisors must be able to routinely perform a variety of tasks related to the efficient operation of our direct store delivery operations. These tasks include but are not limited to the following:
PERSONNEL:
Interview, hire, and train all route personnel
Provide daily assistance to resolve delivery problems, timing issues
Insure that all drivers are compliant with current PUCO & DOT regulations
Perform annual performance review and “ride along” with each employee
Establish procedures as needed for:
Employee call-ins (sick)
Route relief coverage for sickness, vacation, etc.
Insure that all routes are serviced normally during vacations / holidays
Investigate, resolve and record all customer complaint issues with route / delivery operations
Maintain employee records as required by law and / or company policy
VEHICLES:
Oversee proper use and maintenance of all company vehicles (trucks & cars) assigned to the location
PM Intervals should be: Cars-5,000 miles Straight Trucks-10,000 miles Semi Trucks-20,000 miles
Take corrective actions as needed to maintain fleet vehicles
Inspect all vehicles periodically for cleanliness and condition
Maintain complete maintenance records for each vehicle in vehicle specific files
Provide a copy of every vehicle record to the Distribution Manager
Support and enforce the company policies for all fleet vehicle usage
Establish emergency repair procedures and provide list of contacts in all vehicles
See that all vehicle accidents are properly reported (branch, corp., insurance, police) and recorded in the vehicle and personnel files
Maintain truck fleet mileage records by vehicle, by miles traveled per state and report quarterly to Distribution Manager
ROUTES:
Organize and assign routes / days / accounts as needed to provide efficient customer service
Assign delivery route / day for all new customers
Update route list and maps as appropriate
Periodically review routing to maintain efficient service levels, change as needed
Provide route schedules to Distribution Manager 30 days in advance for all holiday weeks
SPECIAL EVENTS & EQUIPMENT:
Work with the regional sales manager to develop local procedures for equipment delivery and
special event set up / ordering / delivery / pick up
Insure that accurate paperwork is completed and submitted for all equipment delivered, picked up or transferred
Maintain accurate records for all special events, activities
PROPERTY / FACILITIES:
Maintain local facilities in a safe and orderly condition
Provide for lawn care, snow removal, etc…as needed per location
Contact and negotiate as needed for local service providers for facility and fleet maintenance
Provide quarterly reports to Distribution Manager regarding fleet and facility conditions and needs
OTHER:
Operations Managers will routinely be asked to perform tasks not listed above. They should be ready and able to learn and execute any and all tasks requested by branch or senior management teams.
